Ashton Conker Club organises the World Conker Championships annually on the second Sunday in October in the nearby village of Ashton. 

Now in its 41^st year, the Club has raised well over £267,045 for the blind and visually handicapped. 

Competitors and spectators come from all over the world to enjoy this event.  There are competitions for Ladies, Gentlemen and Children, and also Team events.

There are many other entertainments, refreshments and stall, which makes it a 'fun day' for the whole family.
