Oundle Museum

Samian Bowl

Open to visitors, this wonderful asset to the town is worth taking a trip to see.

Oundle Museum is an award winning Museum with displays about local history from the prehistoric era through to modern times. There are artifacts on display from the Iron Age, Roman, Saxon and Medieval periods as well as a permanent display of a major brewing industry in the town.

In 2009 ‘The Barn’ was opened with a fabulous display of farming implements as well as the collection of a local carpenter’s tools which have been beautifully restored. The museum is run entirely by volunteers and the Trustees welcome anyone who is interested in helping at the Museum or becoming a Friend.

The museum is open on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays from the beginning of March to the end of November 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. The permanent exhibition room can be opened for visitors during the week in normal office hours. The museum will open for special groups, please contact +44 (0)1832 272741 for details.

There is a new exhibition every year so there is always something to see and in addition there is a programme of events. Please see the museum’s website www.oundlemuseum.org.uk for details, or email us oundle.museum@googlemail.com
