There are two Pocket Parks in Oundle managed by Oundle Town Council:

The Snipe Meadow Pocket Park, situated on the banks of the River Nene to the north of the town, is a very important site for protecting endangered Snipe and Redshank.  The meadow is managed to provide nesting sites for wildlife and to minimise disturbance.

A recently installed boardwalk enables access to a beautiful part of the river for those who would normally be unable to visit such a site.

New Road Pocket Park at the Recreation Ground is an example of local people turning the town's recreation ground into a Pocket Park by means of habitat creation, wildlife interpretation and community involvement.  Natural features alongside the play equipment have created an environment that encourages wildlife.

For the location of these two Pocket Parks see the map on the Council Properties page in this web site.
