Trial Market on Thursday 7 May
OTC has reviewed holding the regular Thursday market, and having talked to other local councils, is trialling running a smaller market this Thursday.
Following Government guidelines and best practices elsewhere the trial market will be open from 8am to 1pm on Thursday 7th May with two stalls, Fruit and Vegetables and Household goods.
Based on the markets now running at Higham Ferrers and in other towns we are going to implement a one-way system. The entrance will be at the St Osyth's end of the Market Place and once you have visited the stalls you will be able to leave the marketplace at the end near to Tesco.
Both ends will be monitored by Council staff and social distance stickers or markers will be in place to ensure people stay 2 metres apart.
The Stall staff have contactless card payment if you do not want to pay with cash. Please only touch the produce you are planning to purchase and leave the market area when you have your shopping. The Fruit and Vegetable stall holder has been running a socially distance system on his stall for the last 5 weeks on other markets.
Please ensure you follow the safety guidelines when visiting the market and send any comments to admin@oundle.gov.uk
