Cllr Steven North, Leader of East Northamptonshire Council said:

"As a council, we have a very strong commitment to improve the health and wellbeing of residents and are also very fortunate to have some beautiful countryside on our doorsteps.

"So whether you are trying to lose some weight or just want to see some more of your local area, we urge you to go into your garages or sheds and dig out your bike."

Across the district, there are many opportunities for residents to get out and about including the East Northamptonshire Council funded Greenway, which runs throughout the district and provides a safe routes for cyclists and walkers alike. Throughout the coronavirus pandemic, the Greenway has proved popular with residents of all ages using the routes for their daily exercise, and it is hoped that this will continue as lockdown and current guidance is eased.
